I remember being little and picking the grapes an my grandma's house. Then we would sit on the porch swing and take the grapes off the vine. It took hours and by the end our fingers were purple.
I have fond memories of canning in my grandmothers small kitchen.
Thanks to Stacey's vineyard and the wonderful smell of concord grapes. I bottled 55 qt's of Grape juice and 17 pints of Grape Jam.
My kids don't always love the Grape Jam but they do as a marinade over meatballs.
There's the proof. My purple spoon, my great aunt Wanda's bottle holder (old and very used)
and mine the new and yellow ones that have years of bottling ahead of them.
At the end of the day the popping of lids is the best sound in the world.
